I graduated from the University of Waterloo in June 2009 with my Doctor of Optometry degree and Honours Science degree. My experiences during my 4 years studying optometry were shaped by my wonderful classmates, professors, clinic directors and patients. I joined Dr. Fink’s office upon graduation in 2009 and tremendously enjoy my time with her and our growing team.

My fourth year of optometry school was spent on several exciting externships, including a 4 month placement at a Veteran’s hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Due to the demographics of the area, I was exposed to many disease cases including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes-related pathology and anterior segment disorders. My knowledge in this area of optometry has expanded over my years of practice, both by attending continuing education classes as well as through my own reading. I am a member of both the Canadian and Ontario Associations of Optometry and hold my board certification to prescribe Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents (TPAs) in the treatment and co-management of ocular diseases. I am proud to be an affiliate of the TLC Laser Eye Centres and the Burlington Laser Eye Centre and am able to provide pre- and post-operative services for laser eye surgery patients. I am also a participating member of the Eye See…Eye Learn program.

I have a special interest in vision therapy, particularly in the area of how visual abnormalities impact infant and child development. My continuing education in the area of developmental and behavioural optometry includes all of the core clinical curriculum courses from the Optometric Extension Program (OEP) as well as several specialized Regional Clinical Seminars, taken in both Canada and the United States. I am a member ofOEP, College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD) and Canadian Optometrists in Vision Therapy & Rehabilitation (COVT&R) – a new non-profit organization that provides vision therapy education to optometrists and raises awareness of vision therapy and rehabilitation through public and government advocacy across Canada.

My husband and I were blessed with our first child in November 2015. She has been a true joy and we love spending time together as a family going for hikes and swims.

In my spare time I like to stay fit and active with cycling and aerobics classes. I have been riding and competing in horse shows in both Canada and the United States for most of my life. Although I no longer compete, I still try to ride whenever I can.

I love interacting with my patients every day and pride myself in taking the time to get to know each of them. Thank you for trusting me with the eye care of you and your family and I look forward to many more years practicing in this beautiful community!
